A revitalized Medvedev secured his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging period, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.

His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-term mentor Cervara.

Currently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set triumph over challenger Moutet.

This marks the player's first title following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court since spring of that year.

Victory also means he has secured twenty-one titles at 21 various events.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is really nice," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, comprising in Halle previously this season.

The player's retrieving play style and recurring reactions on court had led commentators to doubt if his skill to compete at the elite level was concluded.

However the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an enhanced service.

He recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors exchanged breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial professional championship, seized the initiative to force a final set.

He defended 4 early chances in a tight deciding set before the champion broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Fittingly, Medvedev earned the win with a rally at the net area, with his opponent incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
